Hampstead residents overwhelmingly approved the Hampstead Neighbourhood Plan in a referendum held on 21 June 2018.
Clare Oakley, Camden's elections manager, announced the results at Burgh House after the vote count.
She certified that there were 1,484 votes in favour of the Plan, and 138 votes against. Two votes were rejected. This meant that 91.5% of voters supported the Plan, while 8.5% opposed it. The turnout was 20.5%, the highest so far in Neighbourhood Plan votes in Camden.
All registered voters living in the Plan area were eligible to vote in the referendum.
The Neighbourhood Plan will therefore be adopted by Camden and will take its place as planning law with equal force to the Camden Local Plan.
