The Flask

I wish to nominate The Flask for an ACV listing since it is a most pleasant and well-supported pub in Hampstead Village and serves a variety of needs. Run by manager Claudia, she puts the customer, the community and her staff at the centre of everything the pub does. The Flask is also one of the very few pubs in London that still retains its original public bar which is in very much demand for TV sports lovers and is also a popular meeting place for the weekly traditional "mens' night out" after work on Fridays. The pub also has three other bar areas, saloon, lounge and conservatory which cater for numerous events over the year such as parties, wedding receptions, quizzes, the occasional jazz session and business meetings/team building awaydays etc. Any potential loss of this iconic and historic community pub in the heart of Hampstead Village would be a tragedy for all concerned, including the vast number of visitors/tourists who flock to the village at all times of the year. I support the nomination of The Flask. The Flask is definitely an important part of the Hampstead life. It’s one of the few places left to meet with friends to relax and have a drink. They have also recently updated their kitchen and the food is quite good. They also offer a wonderful dinner on Christmas Day when every other restaurant is closed. The Flask is Hampstead and needs to be protected.

I support your nomination of The Flask, it’s my local and I love it. It’s got a lovely friendly atmosphere, no pretensions, great menu (drinks and food). It’s also the place we sit in when one or the other forgets house keys!

The Flask is in .. Flask Walk … one of the prettiest and oldest unspoilt walkways in Hampstead village. Claudia plays an active role in the community, it’s one of the most popular meeting places in Hampstead, both socially and when needed for community matters – such as when it was a drop-in information base when Thames Water carried out their mains repair which affected all the shops and houses in Flask Walk.
