I would like to nominate the Rosslyn Arms for Asset of Community Value status. Although it closed some three years ago, it used to have a great Bohemian atmosphere and attracted customers from all walks of life. From shopkeepers to medical staff from the Royal Free, from lawyers, accountants and bankers, they all supported this pub. The former manager, Tim Garrett, used to refer to the pub as the “Hampstead Village Common Room”. The new operators are currently investing in refurbishing the pub but are keeping this closely under wraps until it re-launches. Although nothing appears to be happening from the outside, it is understood that the new look venue will again have a bar rather than just being a restaurant so there should soon be a pub in this historic location again.
