Gayton Residents Festival

Our Annual Street Party!

The Gayton Festival has been held annually for 35 years and has become a focal point within The Borough attracting local artists, performers, volunteers, charities and of course visitors from all over Camden each year. Admission is free and the event is open to everybody.

The primary aim of this small-scale street party is to reflect and celebrate the diversity that exists within the local population while demonstrating what we all have in common.  As such the entertainment programme is aimed at the joy residents and visitors of all ages can find in live music, art, street entertainment, homemade delicacies handed down through people’s families, and a wide range of street games for all ages.

For those who just want to shop, local residents donate books, bric-a-brac, plants, toys and games to stalls run by the Association that aim cheaply to recycle unwanted goods and help cover costs. The Gayton Resident’s Association runs a membership stall on the day and this has proved to be our peak time for recruiting new neighbours into our community group. The festival also provides opportunities for local charities, voluntary organisations, the Safer Neighbourhoods Team, the Fire Brigade and a few, carefully selected local businesses to show their commitment to the community by taking a stall and joining in the fun.

Taking Part

We always need helpers on the day itself, so please contact your nearby GRA members if you'd like to take part in the day's events, be it holding a stall, hanging bunting, or helping clear up the mess afterwards!
