How to help South End Green?

The Mayor of London is offering up to £20,000 to communities for projects to improve their high streets. The Hampstead Neighbourhood Forum will bid for this money for SEG. A winning bid will promote a vibrant, attractive high street, nurture business and enhance civic life.

We have already consulted traders and local groups, who have suggested some ideas. The deadline for responses is 25 January.

Please take a moment to give us your advice! There are two questions. In Q1, pick the idea you like best. If you have a better one, or comments, or like several, use Q2 to tell us.

    Q: What’s your idea?
A: Some of the shopfronts need cleaning, signage replacing, general tidying. Very cost effective as this can be quite cheap to do and can really transform the look of the area.

    Q: What’s your idea?
A: Get rid of the bus stop in the slip road outside Starbucks. It really blights the Green having buses sitting there belching fumes and doesn’t make you want to linger! All of the other suggestion choices sound good. A lot of the shop front don’t look as good as they could. It would be good if more specialist shops opened perhaps targeted in the same way as they were by the Estate that manages Marylebone 15plus years ago and it transformed that area.
